Sky Soldiers - July 25, 2009 : I was invited by the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation, Sky Soldiers to attend and photograph their monthly meeting and practice session on July 25, 2009. The team reheased two of their air show programs, the Rescue At Dawn and the Cobra Demo Team. Team members also posed for team photographs and opened up all aspects of their hanger operations to my camera. The members of this organization are terrific and they fly several unique aircraft. They have the only remaining flyable AH-1G model Cobra and the only OV-1B model Mowhawk still flying. I enjoyed my day that I spent with the Sky Soldiers and I will be posting photos from that special day in this gallery. I took almost 2700 photos and it will take some time to process the best ones and post them here. Check back often for new photos as I add them.

Quebec Air Show, June 13-15 2008 : The 2008 Quebec Air Show was held in celebration of Quebec's 400th Anniversary. This was a very special air show, bringing together for the first time, four national jet teams to perform, as well as several other outstanding air show acts. The host jet team was the Canadian Air Force Snowbirds. Also there was the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and the British Royal Air Force Red Arrows.

VMFA-142 Flying Gator's Last Flight, 5/31/2008 : I was told that 5/31/08 was the final day that VMFA-142 would be flying. VMFA-142 was moving to Cadre status at a ceremony to be held late on Saturday, May 31, 2008. The last three planes to fly took off from NAS Atlanta/Dobbins ARB field at a little after 3 p.m. in the afternoon. They flew for about an hour, out of my camera range, and then came back and landed. The planes were piloted by the current CO and two prior COs of the Flying Gators. This photo gallery contains photos of the ceremonial last flight on 5/31/08. I also contains photos taken on 6/17/08 of the last maintenance flight of plane 200 in the Flying Gator's paint and logos, as well as some photos of the CO and other officers of VMFA-142. VMFA-142 will be missed from NAS Atlanta and the entire Metro Atlanta area.

Great Tennessee Air Show, April 11&12, 2008 : This was my first air show of the 2008 season and it was held in Smyrna, Tenn. I was able to attend the Blue Angels practice show on Friday and the public show on Saturday. The weather was horrible but the show was great.
